[The Geeky Guide to TV] December Highlights
December is a major holiday month and as much as that means a lot of shows are on their mid-season breaks over in the US, it doesn't mean we don't have geeky shows to look forward to. Here's a quick run-down of what December has to offer other than repeats of It's A Wonderful Life:
Dollhouse - While we all know the show is doomed to end, December is still going to be a major Dollhouse month since we're going to be getting 2 new episodes debuting every Friday starting this weekend and will continue for the next 3 weeks. That's a total of six new episodes for your Dollhouse pleasure! Catch'em now before the show totally goes away!
Continuing Shows - You can still look forward to new episodes for The Big Bang Theory, Sanctuary, Fringe, Legend of the Seeker, Misfits and Eastwick this month as all have new episodes scheduled at least until the week of the Dec 13-19 or so - a few end earlier and a rarer few have episodes until the 30th. The rest of the major ones like V, FlashForward, Heroes and the like are either already on their mid-season breaks or will air their last episodes this week. So make sure to update your calendars or to-do lists in order to catch your favorite shows!
Alice - SyFy has a special 4-hour mini-series called "Alice," which is a mash-up of both Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass together with science fiction and fantasy elements added in. The initial trailers look pretty compelling and it's definitely something worth catching. The mini-series will be split into two parts with the first half premiering on SyFy in the US on December 4 and the second part on December 13.
Doctor Who - This year also marks the beginning of the end for David Tennant's run as The Doctor on the largely popular Doctor Who series. His final episode entitled "The End of Time" is actually a two-part special (as compared to the previous one-shot Christmas specials they normally air). The first part will play on Christmas day over in the UK with the second pard airing on January 1, 2010.
