No, really, is The Hobbit cursed?  First, the movie took forever to get greenlighted because of MGM's financial problems.  Then, Guillermo del Toro left the production, leaving them with no director.  Then, there was that labor dispute in New Zealand that almost had the film relocating elsewhere.
